Smoke Detector

Smoke Detectors

Detects smoke before a fire.

If a fire does unfortunately break out, time is of the essence, and every second counts. Built with photoelectric sensors, the SimpliSafe Smoke Detector is able to respond to a fire in its early, smouldering stage, before it becomes a fire.  An alarm will sound when smoke is detected, giving you and your family more time to get to safety. When coupled with a professional monitoring system, we will be notified of the potential danger. Upon visual verification of a fire, our 24/7 monitoring centre will dispatch the emergency services to your home immediately, even if you’re not home.

How to install and maintain smoke detectors

How to install your SimpliSafe Smoke Detector

Install your SimpliSafe Smoke Detectors near sleeping areas, or places you gather regularly, such as your living room and near bedrooms. For maximum protection, have a smoke detector on each level of your home. Do not install smoke detectors in the kitchen, bathroom, garage or near any stoves or fireplaces.

  1. Remove the mounting bracket from the smoke detector by rotating it anti-clockwise

  2. Install the bracket on the wall or ceiling using the screws and wall anchor included with your new detector

  3. Gently push the smoke detector against the secured bracket, and turn clockwise until you hear it click into place. A solid yellow light will indicate that it is not secure
